Theater

I enjoyed my time learning about theater, and would happily do more in the future. I'm firmly a movie-man, but good stories are good stories.

For about a year, I worked with San Jacinto South's Theater department. I wanted to get involved with more creative types, and figured this would be a great place to go. As one of the few people there that had video experience (and hardware), I offered to help out with marketing the shows.

The Hound of The Baskervilles

This was the first play I was ever involved in. It was definitely a learning experience, but I'm glad I was able to bring something to the table. The first thing I did was put together an animatic with the poster. I did the voiceover, and added some intense murder-mystery music.

I did interviews with most of the cast and crew, and we posted those through the weeks leading up to the show. The one we started with was my interview with the director of the show.

The show itself was livestreamed, but for copyright reasons can't be reposted. I managed the livestream, even incorporating some of my camera equipment into their setup to get a more cinematic experience for the folks watching at home.

A Wish for Hope

In the Fall of 2021, San Jac south started putting together a new show, A Wish For Hope. It's the story of a group of refugees trapped together in a storm, sharing stories of their homes, as well as what the American experience means to them. The playwright wanted something substantial to work off of, and so I was chosen to interview a number of refugees on camera. For confidentiality reasons, I can't share any of that video here. It was an incredibly humbling experience listening to these college age people tell me how they came to this country, what they left behind (or fled from), and what they want to give back to their new and old homes.
